Voting on the Lesser of Two Evils

Whatever happened to the days when the best of the best ended up running against each other for the office of President of the United States?

Now we have one guy who was at one time so arrogant that he thought he could just walk up to any woman and start kissing her while grabbing her at her crotch.  And on the other hand, we have a woman so negligent that she ended up getting some pretty honorable dudes killed in Benghazi and, more recently, ended up carelessly handling national security documents.

So how in the world is a voter supposed to decide between the likes of these two?

Well, you probably already saw the answer in my article’s headline:  Vote on the lesser of the two evils.

When doing so, it is important to consider the issues as well as the individuals.  Benjamin Franklin used to make a list of pros and cons when it came to making tough decisions.

Some of the biggest issues to consider:

  • Illegal immigration
  • Obamacare Insurance
  • Foreign Relations
  • War on Terror Against ISIS
  • Various Others

Some of the biggest things to consider about the candidates:

Donald Trump Pros:

  • Very Shrewd and Keen Business Person
  • Very Transparent (Too Much So, if You Listen to His Opponents)

Donald Trump Cons:

  • Very Crass and Unpolished
  • Very Impulsive with His Words
  • Checkered Past Where His Attitude with Women is Concerned
  • Not Much Experience in Politics

Hillary Clinton Pros:

  • She Possesses a Wealth of Experience in Politics
  • Her Experience as a First Lady Could Come in Handy as the First Woman President

Hillary Clinton Cons:

  • Her Connection to White Water Turns the Stomach of Many Americans
  • Her Negligence in Past Positions Tarnish the Faith Many Americans Have for Her
    • As Secretary of Defense, she neglected some very important emails which could have saved several lives in Benghazi.
    • She was recently discovered as having government documents on her own personal server in violation of national security doctrine.  Evidence points to the fact that her aide was tipped off that an investigation was forthcoming and was instructed to “dump the emails sooner rather than later”.
  • Despite the fact that she has taken opportunity to bash Trump for sexually-insensitive comments he had made several years prior, many of her supporters conveniently forget that she once legally defended a rapist who had raped a 12-year-old girl.
  • There is suspicion as to how the FBI suddenly halted the investigation into her emails.  Many believe that she may have bribed an official to “make the problem go away”.  With her background in politics, it is certainly not too hard to believe she would be able to have enough clout to pull something like this off.

There are probably more pros and cons on both of these sordid individuals.  But I’m a working stiff with limited time to research.  These are the biggest things that stand out as far as I can see.

Our country has been through the ringer over the past several decades.  Our economy is in the tank.  Our nation is not as well respected as it once was many years ago.  Something has to change…and change for the BETTER.  We need a leader who can make it happen.  So it is up to us to vote for who we believe can do it.

I’ve already made my mind up as for whom I will vote this Tuesday.  Now it is up to every other American to do the same thing.  If you don’t like either individual, you may want to consider just how much you don’t like them.  Maybe one of them you cannot stand enough to see in office.  Either way, it may be in your best interest — as well as the rest of the nation — to go ahead and get out…and vote!

To Hell with Politics!

In most cases, if a politician’s lips are moving, then he or she is lying.  At least, this is the case here in America.  I don’t know if the same can be said in other countries.  But I imagine that it probably can.

Here in America, our government has become known as being heavily corrupt and abusive toward its rights and the people it claims to support.  The Republicans blame the Democrats.  The Democrats blame the Republicans.  And the finger-pointing never ends!  It is enough to make even the most patriotic citizens say, “To hell with politics!”, and then move to Australia or Europe.

Our country’s government has been racked with more scandals than it cares to admit.  At least a couple of presidents have run their business like kings in a monarchy.  And neither political party is blameless in all the muck of it.

Personally, I think more like the Republicans than I do the Democrats.  But there are things I cannot stand about both parties.  My biggest complaint against the Dems is that they tend to believe in a lot of things that I do not agree with due to my conservative upbringing.  On the other side of the river, I cannot stand the GOP because of their good-ole-boy network in which you have to have money to be able to be equal to everyone else.  They do not believe in a fair flat tax.  They want the working class to pay the majority of the taxes, while they keep sipping their tea and smoking their Dutch Masters in the halls of power (that is unless the Dutch Masters have been relocated into some intern’s vagina somewhere).  It really turns my stomach!

Then we have the IRS scandal…that lovely organization that loves to tax the shit out of all of us.  And didn’t we have a revolution a couple or few hundred years ago to get away from being taxed to death?  Hell!  It appears that our government has become our own King George!

What is the answer?

Some conspiracy theorists will have you believe that the current government needs to be overthrown.  And I’m not too sure that I disagree.  But realistically, I know that any government in the world has the potential to be abusive to the people it claims to govern.  I hate to admit that all of this makes me wonder why the hell the American Revolution ever took place at all.  Some self-proclaimed patriots will try to convince me that “at least now we have tax with representation”.  But, to them, I say:  “My ass!  As long as we have an electoral college, there is no such thing as representation.”  After all, how many times have to majority of the people voted for one individual to only have the electoral college offset it?

So what do you feel the answer happens to be?  As for me, when all the shit starts flying, I choose to duck down and stay clear.

The REAL Untouchables

Anyone who has observed the Obama Administration in action knows who the real Untouchables are.  There are enough scandals in this administration to make a gangster or gang-banger blush!  Many feel that our president has more leniency than Elliot Ness did not just in real life, but in the film and series of the same name: The Untouchables.

Looking at our president alone, we have different words and actions that many say violate his Congress-given laws as President of the United States:

  • Many Americans feel he recently overturned a long-standing policy that we will not negotiate with terrorists.
  • “I’ve got a pen, and I’ve got a phone. And I can use that pen to sign executive orders and take executive actions and administrative actions that move the ball forward in helping to make sure our kids are getting the best education possible, making sure that our businesses are getting the kind of support and help they need to grow and advance, to make sure that people are getting the skills that they need to get those jobs that our businesses are creating,” the president said. 
  • The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit issued a 47-page ruling Jan. 25, 2013 upholding the U.S. Constitution against Executive branch violation of the Constitutional separation of powers, in its ruling that President Obama violated the Constitution in making recess appointments when the Senate was, indeed, in session.
  • Monday, in a 248 to 163 vote, the US House of Representatives turned on President Obama by invoking the War Powers Resolution to prohibit funding U.S. military operations in Libya. The House adopted an amendment to a military appropriations bill to end what some Congressional leaders have called Obama’s dictatorship and behaving like a king.
  • “…the president again violated the separation of powers, and this is becoming something of a serial violation for the president,” and was a “shot across the bow” in many areas of presidential power.
  • Appointment of a “shadow government” of some 35+ individuals termed “czars” who are not confirmed by the Senate and respond only to the president, yet have overarching regulatory powers – a clear violation of the separation of powers concept. Obama bypassed the Senate with many of his appointments of over 35 “czars.”

And there are many more supposed violations that I found on the web.  

I say:  “If all of these accusations are true, then why is he still in the Oval Office?  Either we have a Congress that does not have enough integrity and backbone to do the right thing, or many people are simply ignorant of Constitutional Law.  Either way, why the hell can’t we all just get along?”

As for Nancy Pelosi, the only thing I can think of — right off the bat — is that she is battier than a donkey on heroin.  But here is what I found:  House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi on Saturday called the recent in-pouring of Central Americans across the U.S. border an “opportunity” rather than a “crisis” — and added a personal desire of hers.

I say:  “Why the hell should we reward illegal aliens for breaking our laws?  To me, this is just asinine.”

As for Harry Reid, the only thing I can blame him for is being stupid.  But that is not against the law.  When I consulted the Web, I found:  

  • Democrat Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid dedicated a page on his official Senate website attacking private citizens, Charles and David Koch, the libertarian business leaders and philanthropists, and that action may be backfiring on Reid.  The Louisiana GOP (LAGOP) says that action, and others by Reid, violate Senate ethics rules which specifically prohibit using the official websites with the Senate.gov domain for partisan political campaign purposes.
  • The Washington Examiner reports “Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., has received campaign contributions from people and political action committees linked to multiple companies suspected of violating the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.”

And this brings us to Hillary Clinton:  Even while the congressional investigations were being conducted, FOX News came out with an exclusive report about many weapons, vehicles and supplies were stolen by Libyan jihadists.  In fact, according to Fox News, a former American-built training camp, abandoned (not destroyed) by U.S. forces which left the country after the Benghazi debacle, has now been over-run and is being used by jihadists to train terrorists!

The Obama administration response to Benghazi remains horrendous, at best.

At Thursday’s Congressional investigation, Democratic Congressmen walked out of the room while victim families were testifying.  While at the same time, Hillary Clinton granted an interview with the New York Magazine which continued to “whitewash” the entire Benghazi scandal!

I say:  “To me this is quite appalling if it is true.  People died, for crying out loud!”

Overall, I feel that people in such positions of government should be held to a higher standard, since they represent all Americans.  Whenever we permit people in these positions to violate the Constitution, then we are no longer American, in my humble opinion.  Our Forefathers in history, though not perfect by any means, stood against oppression, and many of their brethren died fighting for the very American ideals that are noted in this historic and sacred document.  

I’m not saying that we need to take up arms against our Nation.  I’m just saying that our government is supposed to be democratic, and not a monarchy.  Many people I’ve spoken to claim that we live in a much different time than our Forefathers.  But the documents upon which we base our laws contain timeless principles.  Sure, slavery is no longer around as it was then, but Amendments have been taken to account for all of this.  

Once we allow government officials to become untouchable, then we fail in epic proportions as Americans.  The government answers to We the People, not the other way around.  If our President has indeed violated the law, then hopefully our system will try him and punish him for it.  But as of lately, I keep hearing about transgressions with no ramifications.  According to the latest news, John Boener sued the president.  But we’ll just have to wait and see if it goes anywhere.  Strangely enough, it’s almost as if he and all in his cabinet are untouchable.

Who Said the War for Independence Was Ever Won?

Tired of all the attacks on the Second Amendment, I decided to write a story that clearly shows how important this law is to all American citizens everywhere.  Always remember:  The Second Amendment is the one that allows us to defend all of the others from those who do not have the best interest for Our Nation in mind.

Independence Day is when we celebrate the freedoms that were hard-won by our country’s Forefathers.  But in a sense, many of these freedoms are now under attack by corrupt politicians and special interest groups they almost always secretly support.  So did we ever TRULY win the war for Independence?  I challenge that we are once again in the middle of it, though it is being fought on a more political level right now.

In my humble opinion, 2018: An Uncivil War is the PERFECT book to read in celebration of Independence Day!  At least one of my readers has stated that some of the things I’ve foretold there in have actually come to pass.  This story will show you both sides of the gun rights debate, assigning a major character to each side, and will then show you how they both come to be on the same page toward the extremely exciting and fulfilling climax!

God Speed as we strive toward total independence!

No Glovie, No Lovie!

If you ask any faithful, patriotic American what our country needs, you are likely to get hundreds of answers.  The lower class Americans will probably tell you:  “A flat tax” or maybe “More jobs in America.”  The upper class will probably tell you:  “More tax breaks for the wealthy” or “More business grants for those in higher tax brackets”.  Teachers may recommend:  “Higher salaries for educators!”  Clergy members may suggest:  “A smaller rift between church and state.”  Our democrats may say:  “Marital equality between heterosexual and homosexual couples.”  Our republicans might say:  “More religious freedom!”

But I’ve pretty much been an outsider looking in, a fly on the wall, if you will!  And what I’ve seen no longer surprises me, though it still astounds me.  I feel like our country’s government, ever since the late 1970s, has become that glutton you often see at the all-you-can-eat buffets around the nation…you know who I’m talking about!  That big, slovenly dude with four chins — one of them even on the back of his neck — carrying two or three plates and loading them up with enough food to maybe feed a small army.  When you watch this guy, you suddenly realize just how much food one of those meager-looking plates will actually hold!  Yep!  That’s our country.

What’s on the buffet?  We, the people…if you can forgive the cliche.  We work our asses off doing various jobs and are now being forced to pay for a lemon that very few of us want — Obamacare, more lovingly known as the Affordable Care Act.  We are already taxed to death!  And didn’t we fight a major war a couple hundred years ago to get away from being overtaxed?

Back to the hungry, fathomless pit that we have established as a glutton!  Our government gets hungry when it sees our wages!  “More, more!”, it hollers!  No matter the fact that two hands were not meant to carry three or more plates!  “That’s okay,” it says, with a huge chicken leg hanging out of its mouth.  “I don’t mind making double trips!”

What our gluttonous government doesn’t understand is that this greed will eventually cause some serious problems.  After all, when you pick up one side of the plate, you pick up the other side too.

When a pig eats, and eats, and eats…something’s gotta give!  It continues to get stuffed and bloated.  Lord helps the person walking behind said pig when the bullet hits the bone!

So I’m sure you can see where I’m going with this…what our government needs is a MAJOR enema!  And I’m not talking about the kind that has that moldy-looking bag you often see at your grandmother’s house, hanging from the shower-head with a long rubber hose coming out of the bottom.  I’m talking fire hydrants, baby!

And the government is supposed to work for us, we, the people!  So we need to administer it.  Before we turn that valve on top of the hydrant, we need to say to our government:  “No glovie, no lovie!”  And then we need to pop on those latex gloves and hope none of the muck from the scary, bottomless bottom gets on us!
